"Adults-only" in Gran Canaria does not mean one thing. TUI BLUE Suite Princess, the beachfront all-inclusive at Taurito, takes guests from 16; Bohemia Suites & Spa, BLUESEA Marieta and Gold by Marina in Playa del Inglés list no children at all. If you are travelling with a 16- or 17-year-old, that line decides the booking before the pool, the spa or the price does. Here are four worth booking, and which one suits your trip.
Booking for live prices · Review for our take
| Hotel | Score | Age policy | Area | Best for | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bohemia Suites & Spa | Superb | No children | Playa del Inglés | Design, rooftop dining | Booking →Review ↓ |
| TUI BLUE Suite Princess | 16+ | Taurito beachfront | All-inclusive on the beach | Booking →Review ↓ | |
| Gold by Marina | Superb | No children | Playa del Inglés | Suites with kitchens | Booking →Review ↓ |
| BLUESEA Marieta | Very good | No children | Playa del Inglés | Rooftop, near the beach | Booking →Review ↓ |
The Age policy column is taken from each hotel's own website or Booking.com listing, not a nightly rate. "No children" means the listing states that children are not allowed without publishing a lower age limit, so if anyone in your group is under 18, confirm the exact age with the hotel before you pay.
Which adults-only hotel should you book?
Start with who is travelling and how you want to spend the days. Adults-only rooms are a smaller pool of stock than family rooms, so settle it now rather than after the family weeks have filled the island.
| Your trip | Book | The trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Couple wanting design and good food | Bohemia Suites & Spa | Spa costs extra |
| Travelling with a 16- or 17-year-old | TUI BLUE Suite Princess | Taurito is far from the nightlife |
| Want space and a kitchen | Gold by Marina | 10-minute walk to the beach |
| Resort-style base near the beach | BLUESEA Marieta | Less boutique than Bohemia |
The Gran Canaria hotel cluster already covers several other adults-only hotels in depth. Hotel Nayra and Corallium Dunamar are compared in our best hotels in Playa del Inglés guide, and the 18+ Hotel Faro in Meloneras is in our best hotels in Maspalomas guide.
Bohemia Suites & Spa
The boutique booking, and the one built around food and design. Bohemia Suites & Spa is an adults-only hotel about 200 metres from Playa del Inglés beach, with the Maspalomas dunes within a 10-minute walk.
It has one freshwater and one saltwater outdoor pool and two outdoor hot tubs, and a rooftop restaurant serving creative local dishes with panoramic views, with the Atelier cocktail bar on its terrace. The rooms come in yellow, terracotta or purple schemes with olive-wood furniture, some with balconies or terraces.
One thing to know: the wellness area, with an indoor vitality pool, sauna and steam room, costs a supplement. Book it if the rooftop dinner and a design hotel are the point of the trip. Check current rates for Bohemia Suites & Spa.
TUI BLUE Suite Princess
The all-inclusive, beachfront booking, and the only one of the four that publishes a minimum age of 16. TUI BLUE Suite Princess is a four-star, adults-only hotel on the beachfront at Taurito, in the Mogán municipality of south-west Gran Canaria, and it runs on an all-inclusive basis.
The Princess group describes it as a hotel designed for couples, with 304 rooms across nine floors, a sports area, massage service and professional shows in the evening. That scale makes it a resort rather than a boutique, with the beach directly in front.
The trade-off is location. Taurito is a small, quiet resort a long way west of Playa del Inglés's nightlife, so this suits a couple who want the sea and the sun loungers, not the Yumbo. Check current rates for TUI BLUE Suite Princess.
Gold by Marina
The booking for space, and the one to pick for a longer stay. Gold by Marina is an adults-only hotel in Playa del Inglés, roughly a 10-minute walk from both the beach and the Yumbo Centre, which puts it between the two halves of the resort.
Its rooms are the difference: around 30 to 34 square metres, some with a bedroom, living room and kitchen, and some with sunset views over the sea and the Maspalomas dunes. Outside there are two pools, a raised sun terrace with an open-air hot tub, a poolside bar and a chill-out lounge, and breakfast runs late.
Book it if you want an apartment-style base with hotel service rather than a big resort. Check current rates for Gold by Marina.
BLUESEA Marieta
The resort-style booking near the beach. BLUESEA Marieta is a four-star, adults-only hotel on Avenida de Italia in Playa del Inglés, about 200 metres from the beach, with the dunes around a kilometre away.
It has a heated outdoor pool, a rooftop chill-out terrace with panoramic views, a gym and a spa, a buffet restaurant open all day and a poolside bar. All-inclusive is available, and shops, bars and restaurants are within a five-minute walk.
It is the most resort-style of the three Playa del Inglés picks, which suits couples and friends who want facilities on site. Older reviews may use its former name, Labranda Marieta. Check current rates for BLUESEA Marieta.
Two more worth knowing about
Gran Canaria Princess is the second Princess adults-only hotel on the island, in Playa del Inglés, with the same 16+ policy as Suite Princess. It offers bed and breakfast through to all-inclusive and an outdoor wellness area with a Turkish bath, hydromassage pools and Balinese beds, close to the Yumbo Centre.
Axel Beach Maspalomas is an adults-only apartment hotel in Playa del Inglés aimed at the LGBTQ+ community, known for pool parties, DJs and a garden with Balinese beds, about a five-minute walk from the Yumbo. The apartments have kitchenettes, and the hotel has a hot tub, sauna, hammam and gym. For the Yumbo itself, see our things to do in Playa del Inglés guide.
Why adults-only means different ages here
Compare these properly and one pattern stands out: "adults-only" is a brand label, not a legal age. The Princess group publishes 16+ for its adults-only hotels on the island, while the Playa del Inglés boutiques simply list children not allowed on Booking.com without stating whether that means 16 or 18.
For a couple, it makes no difference. For a family with a 16- or 17-year-old who wants a quiet week, it is the whole decision: Suite Princess and Gran Canaria Princess will take them; for the others, ask first.
The second pattern is geography. Three of the four are in Playa del Inglés, which puts the Yumbo, the dunes and the beach on foot. If you want an adults-only week that feels remote, Taurito is the answer.
When to book an adults-only hotel in Gran Canaria
Gran Canaria is a winter-sun island, so rates rise when northern Europe is cold: Christmas, February half-term and Easter are the busy weeks. Expect extra demand around Maspalomas Pride in May and Winter Pride in November, especially close to the Yumbo, so check those dates before you book Playa del Inglés.
If you are still choosing a resort area, our where to stay in Gran Canaria guide compares Playa del Inglés with Maspalomas, Puerto Rico and Puerto de Mogán.
