Playa del Inglés is not one kind of place. At one end is the Yumbo Centre, the island's nightlife and LGBTQ+ hub; at the other, the resort runs into the edge of the Maspalomas dunes. A hotel beside the first is a very different holiday from a hotel beside the second, even when both show the same town name.
So choose the position and the policy before the pool. Two of the four hotels below take no children, and two are family all-inclusives, and each sits at a different point between the bars, the beach and the dunes. That combination, not the star rating, is what decides the right booking.

For how Playa del Inglés compares with Maspalomas, Puerto Rico and Las Palmas as a base, see our where to stay in Gran Canaria guide. For what fills the days and nights once you've booked, see our Playa del Inglés things to do guide.
Hotel Nayra
The nightlife booking, and the one with the shortest walk home. Hotel Nayra is adults only and sits almost next door to the Yumbo Centre, the heart of Playa del Inglés after dark and of Maspalomas Pride.
It is a straightforward hotel rather than a resort: an outdoor pool and sun terrace, a bar, a buffet restaurant and 24-hour reception. Playa del Inglés beach is about a 15-minute walk away, which is the honest trade for being a few steps from the bars.
One naming trap: Booking.com also lists Bungalows Nayra, a separate men-only property. Make sure the listing you open says Hotel Nayra – Adults Only. Check current rates for Hotel Nayra if the Yumbo is why you came.
Corallium Dunamar by Lopesan
The adults-only booking for people who want the beach rather than the bars on their doorstep. Corallium Dunamar is adults only from 18, about 200 metres from Playa del Inglés beach, and does not offer cots or extra beds.
For more adults-only options in and around Playa del Inglés, our best adults-only hotels guide compares three more by age policy and price.
It has 273 rooms with balconies, a distinctive pyramid-shaped building set in tropical gardens, and an outdoor pool complex. The main buffet restaurant, the Food Garden, runs themed dinners five nights a week, and all-inclusive rates are available alongside other boards.
Book it if you want an adults-only hotel with the sand close and the Yumbo a walk away rather than under the window. Check current rates for Corallium Dunamar, and if San Agustín's quieter beach appeals more, its sister hotel Corallium Beach is covered in our all-inclusive resorts guide.
Abora Catarina by Lopesan
The family hotel for the quieter end. Abora Catarina sits about 250 metres from the Maspalomas dunes, at the dunes end of town rather than the nightlife end.
It has five outdoor swimming pools, a buffet restaurant, bars, a fitness centre, a games room and a children's playground. The room to look at is the Double Family Pool, which comes with its own terrace and private pool, alongside Double Deluxe Pool rooms with the same feature.
Lopesan lists Abora Catarina among its all-inclusive hotels, so check the board on the rate you choose. Check current rates for Abora Catarina, and before walking into the dunes, read our Maspalomas dunes guide: leaving the marked paths now carries a fine.
Servatur Waikiki
The big family all-inclusive, and the one that keeps children busy without leaving the grounds. Servatur Waikiki has 511 rooms, and its facilities run from the Hula-Hula Park, a children's water park with slides and a splash pool, to the Mai Tai Lounge, an adults-only area with a heated pool for parents.
Family Suites have a terrace and private garden, and there is a mini-club, a multi-sports court and evening shows. The All Inclusive + upgrade adds premium drinks, barista coffee and round-the-clock ice cream and cold snacks.
The trade-off is position: the hotel is about 1.5km from Playa del Inglés beach, with free transport to it, and about 400 metres from the Kasbah and Metro centres. Book it if the pool matters more than the sand. Check current rates for Servatur Waikiki.
Two more worth knowing about
Servatur Don Miguel is the adults-only alternative from the same Servatur group in Playa del Inglés, useful if you like the Waikiki's operator but not its children's water park.
Abora Continental by Lopesan is Abora Catarina's family-oriented sister in Playa del Inglés, also on Lopesan's all-inclusive list. Compare the two on position if Catarina is full for your dates.
What the Playa del Inglés premium actually buys
Line these four up and one pattern stands out: in Playa del Inglés you are paying for distance, in one direction or the other. Nayra buys distance from the beach in exchange for being beside the Yumbo; Waikiki buys space for a water park by sitting 1.5km back; Catarina and Dunamar buy proximity to sand at the quieter ends.
The second pattern is that adults-only here means two different things. Nayra is adults-only for nightlife convenience; Corallium Dunamar is adults-only for quiet by the beach. Same policy, opposite holidays.
When to book
Southern Gran Canaria's weather barely changes through the year, so rates follow northern European school holidays and event weeks such as Maspalomas Pride rather than the season. Book early for those weeks, and earliest of all for adults-only rooms, which are the scarcer stock.
All four hotels are a short transfer from the airport on the GC-1. Our Gran Canaria airport transfers guide weighs up the ways to make that trip south.
