Most Lanzarote excursions cost between about €21 for the ferry to Fuerteventura and €95 for a full day with lunch, and tours usually collect from Playa Blanca, Puerto del Carmen, Costa Teguise and Arrecife. If you book only one, make it the Full-Day Island Highlights tour from about €51: Timanfaya, two lava-tube caves, El Golfo and the north in nine hours. It is the best-rated big tour on the island.

Which Lanzarote excursion should you book first?
On a first visit, book the Island Highlights tour. Lanzarote's headline sights are spread from the volcanic south to the cliffs of the north, and this is the one day that strings them together with pickup. Reviewers' main complaint is pace: nine hours and nine stops means short visits.
If volcanoes are the reason you came, book Timanfaya on its own. The national park is seen from a coach either way, and a half-day tour leaves the rest of the day free. If you want a beach day with a difference, book the Papagayo catamaran. If you have a hire car, several of these are cheaper to do yourself, covered further down.
Timanfaya and the volcanoes
Timanfaya is the island's one unmissable sight, and the tour question is mostly about logistics. Entry costs €30 per adult from CACT, the body that runs Lanzarote's tourist centres, and includes the Route of the Volcanoes, a 35-minute coach loop through the eruption zone that you cannot drive yourself.
A half-day tour costs about €59 with the entrance included, so you are paying about €29 for transport, a guide and a reserved time slot. The full day with Jameos del Agua and Cueva de los Verdes at about €89 includes all three entries, which cost €64 if bought separately.
Our Timanfaya National Park tour guide compares every format, including the guided hikes in the neighbouring natural park and how to visit independently.
Island tours: Highlights, César Manrique or the bus tour
The Island Highlights tour is the broadest day, but read the options before you pay. The booking page offers it without entry tickets, with two, or with all three of the Timanfaya, Jameos del Agua and Cueva de los Verdes entries, and the €51 is the lowest "from" price. Those three entries cost €64 at the gate. Pick a date on the booking page to see exactly which option each price covers before you pay.
For the César Manrique sites, book the dedicated tour. Manrique, the Lanzarote artist and architect, designed the island's best-known visitor centres, and the César Manrique full-day tour at about €85 includes four entries, Mirador del Río, Jameos del Agua, the Cactus Garden and the Fundación César Manrique in his former home, plus a stop at the Monumento al Campesino.
Lunch on that tour is extra, about €18 at the restaurant stop, and the day is not suitable for people with claustrophobia or reduced mobility. The Full-Day Bus Tour with Scenic Views at about €87 is the alternative south-to-north day, with El Golfo, Timanfaya and Jameos del Agua included.
On the water
Lanzarote's boat trips are shorter and cheaper than the big island tours, and most leave from Puerto del Carmen, not Playa Blanca. The three worth knowing first:
- Papagayo catamaran: about €66, lunch and drinks included, two hours anchored off the Papagayo coves
- Dolphin sunset cruise: about €53 for two hours, with no guarantee of dolphins
- La Graciosa island cruise: about €66 for six hours from Órzola, the highest-rated of the big boat days
Prices, ports and the trips to skip are in our Lanzarote boat trip guide.
Buggies: driving the landscape yourself
Buggy tours are priced per buggy, not per person, from about €150 for a two-seater. They are guided convoys, and none enters Timanfaya National Park, where driving off the asphalt is prohibited. The most-booked runs in the north-east from Costa Teguise; the on-road tour from Puerto del Carmen is the one that visits a volcano.
The routes, licence rules and the 2-seater versus 4-seater maths are in our Lanzarote volcano buggy tour guide.
Day trips to Fuerteventura and La Graciosa
Lanzarote's two neighbours are both reachable in a day, and they make very different trips.
Fuerteventura is 35 minutes away on the Fred. Olsen ferry from Playa Blanca to Corralejo, from about €21, with five departures a day each way. The guided day trip to Fuerteventura and Corralejo at about €62 adds the coach, Corralejo town, the village of El Cotillo and free time at the dunes. Bring a passport or ID card for both.
La Graciosa is a 30-minute ferry from Órzola in the far north, from about €29, with free parking at the harbour and return sailings through the day. The ticket lets you come back the same day or the next. For a guided version with lunch, see the La Graciosa cruise in our boat trip guide.
What you can do without a tour
With a hire car, the CACT centres are easy to visit yourself, and the island is only about 60 km from end to end. These are CACT's own prices for October 2026, per adult, with under-7s free.
- Montañas del Fuego (Timanfaya): €30, timed slot, 09:00–15:45
- Jameos del Agua: from €17, 10:00–18:00
- Cueva de los Verdes: €17, guided visit of about 50 minutes, 09:30–16:45
- Jardín de Cactus: €9, 10:00–17:00
- Mirador del Río: €9, 10:00–17:00
The three northern sites sit close together, so Jameos, Cueva de los Verdes and the Mirador del Río make a comfortable half-day by car. Timanfaya tickets are sold by time slot and cannot be changed or refunded, so book that one before you plan the rest of the day around it.
Two more for specific tastes: the El Grifo winery, whose museum occupies a bodega dating from 1775, runs a two-hour tasting of six wines with local cheese at about €50, adults only. Aquapark Costa Teguise costs about €28 for families who need a pool day.
