Playa Blanca is the quietest of Lanzarote's three big resorts, on three sheltered beaches and Marina Rubicón about 34 km from the airport. The best hotels split by traveller: Princesa Yaiza sits on Playa Dorada with a baby club from four months, Iberostar Selection Lanzarote Park has eight slides and a club up to 17, Elba Lanzarote Royal Village sells all-inclusive with six pools but no beachfront, and H10 White Suites is adults only.

The grid shows who each hotel is for instead of a nightly rate, because Playa Blanca prices swing hard between school holidays and quiet weeks. Each Booking button opens today's price and the full guest reviews.

Which Playa Blanca hotel should you book?

Find the row that matches your trip and book that one. All four sell into the same winter-sun and school-holiday weeks, and a rate you see today is not held for you tomorrow.

Two more names that come up for Playa Blanca, H10 Rubicón Horizons Collection and Hotel LIVVO Volcán, are covered further down. If you are still deciding between resorts rather than hotels, our best hotels in Lanzarote guide compares Playa Blanca with Puerto del Carmen and Costa Teguise.

Princesa Yaiza Suite Hotel Resort

The family booking, and the only one of the four on the sand. Princesa Yaiza Suite Hotel Resort is a five-star resort on the beachfront of Playa Dorada, at Avenida de Papagayo 22, with 385 rooms and six outdoor pools, three of them for children.

What sets it apart is how young the childcare starts. The Baby Club takes children from four months to three years, staffed by certified childcare professionals, and Capitan Park is a 10,000 m² open-air kids' area for ages 0 to 16, with its own pools, a theatre and courts. Families can book suites in a separate family building, joined to the main hotel by a walkway, with its own pools and family restaurant.

Adults are not an afterthought: there is a thalassotherapy centre with a seawater circuit (charged extra), and the hotel lists nine restaurants. UK operators sell it on bed and breakfast or half board. Check current rates for Princesa Yaiza if you are travelling with a baby and want to step onto the beach.

Iberostar Selection Lanzarote Park

The slides-and-teenagers booking. Iberostar Selection Lanzarote Park is a five-star resort at Avenida Archipiélago 7, built as curved buildings modelled on the zocos, the semicircular volcanic-stone walls Lanzarote farmers build around their vines.

The resort is split in two. To one side is the family area, with the Aquafun pools and their eight slides; to the other, the adults' building and the Star Prestige pool, open to guests aged 15 and over. Between them sit a heatable infinity pool, an indoor pool and a heated whirlpool. Star Camp covers ages 4 to 17, with a separate teen club from 12.

It sells breakfast, half board and all-inclusive, and Booking.com puts Playa Flamingo about 200 metres away. Book it if your children are past the toddler stage and want slides more than sand. Check current rates for Iberostar Lanzarote Park.

Elba Lanzarote Royal Village Resort

The most-searched hotel in Playa Blanca, and the all-inclusive family booking. Elba Lanzarote Royal Village Resort, at Avenida Faro Pechiguera 1, is laid out like a Lanzarote village, with six outdoor pools including a saltwater pool, a heated pool and a children's pool.

It is not on the beach. Booking.com puts Playa Flamingo about a 15-minute walk away, and the hotel runs a free shuttle to Playa Dorada: three runs out at 09:30, 10:30 and 11:30, and three back at 15:30, 16:30 and 17:30, with no booking needed.

The trade is a lot of hotel for children. Pepeland has a miniclub for ages 4 to 7, a maxiclub for 8 to 12 and a teen club for 13 to 18 in high season, around a 30cm-deep children's pool. Adults get a thalasso spa (charged extra). Book it if a pool-centred, all-inclusive week suits you better than beachfront. Check current rates for Elba Lanzarote Royal Village.

H10 White Suites

The couples' booking. Boutique Hotel H10 White Suites, at Janubio 1, is an adults-only, all-inclusive suite hotel: H10 recommends it for guests aged 18 and over, and Booking.com lists it as adults only.

It is a boutique hotel with two pools, one heated in winter, and an outdoor jacuzzi. The Despacio Beauty Centre has a sauna, a Turkish bath and treatments at extra cost, and guests in the Superior and Deluxe Suites get a private area with food and drink service.

Booking.com measures Playa Dorada at about 250 metres, so the beach is a short walk. Book it if you want all-inclusive without children at the next sunbed. Check current rates for H10 White Suites.

Two more worth knowing about

H10 Rubicón Horizons Collection is the hotel many guides still call H10 Rubicón Palace: H10 moved it into its five-star Horizons Collection brand in 2025. It is an all-inclusive resort on the seafront at Montaña Roja, with a pirate-ship pool area for children, a separate adults-only room area and an optional Privilege upgrade. Booking.com puts the nearest beach about 600 metres away. Check H10 Rubicón Horizons Collection.

Hotel LIVVO Volcán Lanzarote is a five-star with 251 rooms and direct access to Marina Rubicón. Its draw is Club Volcán, an 18+ hotel within the hotel with its own pool and waiter service, while the rest of the resort takes families. It sells half board.

Can you swim at Playa Blanca's beaches?

Yes, but 2026 brought a run of short closures, each one beach at a time. Yaiza council closed the small town beach in February after high enterococci readings, and again in late June after a wastewater spill, reopening it by 1 July. Playa Dorada was closed for bacterial contamination and reopened on 17 April 2026.

The town beach was closed to bathing again on 8 September 2026 after another spill. The earlier closures each ended when Public Health tests came back clean, so the rule is simple: obey the red flag, and walk the promenade to the next beach if one is shut.

What a Playa Blanca premium actually buys

Look at these hotels together and one pattern stands out: Playa Blanca's big resorts do not choose between families and couples, they fence them apart. Iberostar has an adults' building and a 15+ pool, Princesa Yaiza a separate family building, LIVVO Volcán its 18+ Club Volcán, and H10 Rubicón an adults-only room area. Only H10 White Suites is adults only throughout.

The second pattern is that beachfront is the rare thing here, not stars. Most of the hotels on this page are five-stars, and of the four in the grid only Princesa Yaiza opens onto the sand. That walk to the water is what its price buys.

When to book a Playa Blanca hotel

Playa Blanca prices peak in the school holidays: Christmas, February half-term and Easter, when families fill the resort. Baby Club places, family suites and the adults-only rooms are the smallest pools of stock, so book those first.

Allow 30 to 40 minutes from the airport; this is the furthest of the main resorts, and if that transfer is a deal-breaker, our Puerto del Carmen hotels guide covers the resort 10 minutes away. The trade is the south's best day trips on the doorstep: the ferry to Fuerteventura leaves from Playa Blanca's port, and Aqualava, compared in our Lanzarote water parks guide, is in town.
